UPDATE – The very Latest iPad 3 Specs have just been released as of Feb 2012, we now have a good idea as to what will be in the new ipad vs the Rumors that have been doing the rounds. The iPad 3 rumour mill has be predicting the iPad 3 will be released in March 2012, the new iPad 3 will include retina display, camera and chip, and an all new A6 Processor.
So, what exactly are the rumours about the iPad 3 that are in circulation?
1. Processor: The iPad 3 includes a dual-core processor.
It is entirely possible that the new iPad 3 would sport a brand new Apple’s A6 processor. If the iPad 3 release date rumours are to be believed for a spring or summer 2012 release, then the timeframe would be pretty tight to incorporate the A6 processor and the iPad 3 would very likely sport an A5 processor.Apple could, of course, well surprise the street, however we pretty much expect to have the same graphics and processor in iPad 3 as the ones we saw in iPad 2 – an A5 processor having PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics.
2. Display: We hear the iPad 3 could include a retina display!
A retina display had been widely predicted even for the iPad 2; however, the current iPad 2 tablet does not possess a double-resolution display. Now, is it possible that a retina display could well be on its way for the iPad 3?That is pretty much the first thing on the wish lists almost all iPad 3 rumours.
Rumours of iPad 3 sporting an HD screen gathered momentum when it was reported in the Digitimes on 12 April 2011 that Apple has been asking the panel makers to furnish screens having the capability to display image qualities far higher than what is now available on iPad 2.In May 2011 it was reported that iPad 3 could be launching an AMOLED screen made by Samsung, based on the iPad 3 rumours that Apple in talking in regard to this with the Samsung executives. And in June 2011 it had reported that the functional iOS 5 code is hinting at a retina display screen for the iPad 3.
3. Chip: iPad 3 hardware can possibly contain a NFC chip
It is a known fact that Apple is keenly interested in Near Field Communications (NFC), and there is a strong rumour that suggests that the iPad3 will sport a NFC functionality that enables one to use all their settings and data with a single flick of their wrist.
