According to market grapevine the latest iPad 3 is actually being designed for multiple market segments. This means that there will be several variants of the iPad 3 catering to the requirements of the entry level, medium range and also top end markets.

The screen size is also expected to be at an enhanced 9.7-inch, and this is much larger than the previously rumored screen size of 7.85-inch.

The screen is also expected to be provided with a very high 1,536×2,048p QXGA resolution, with the brightness of its panels getting strengthened with the usage of twin LED light bars.

Insider sources are stating that Sharp is most likely to be the major supplier of iPad 3 panels, whereas Samsung and LG will most likely receive some orders for the iPad 3 Display. Samsung is also expected to be the major supplier of the CMOS Image Sensors for one particular version of the latest iPad 3 which is rumored to come with a 5MP lens. The Image Sensors for one another model sporting an 8MP lens will be provided by Sony.
